Acton, CA is a small community originally established in the late 1800's as a mining town. It is located east of the Santa Clarita Valley, bounded by the Sierra Pelona Mountains to the north and the San Gabriel Mountains to the south. With an elevation between 2000 and 4000 feet, Acton enjoys four seasons, with winter snow sprinkles to beautiful spring flowers, The views are vast, and the smell of fresh air with fragrant plants makes for a delightful time outside any time of year.
Acton has its share of interesting history from the stories of Henry T. Gage, a one time California Governor entertaining President Theodore Roosevelt, President Herbert Hoover, and the King of Spain at the Acton Hotel, to stories of gold mines, and railroad tycoons. At one time, Acton was even considered as a location for state capitol.
Acton is home to some movie ranches due to its terrain and proximity to Hollywood. the Shambala Preserve, an animal santuary,
Acton still retains a small town rural western theme, and is home to equestrian and pet lovers. The 14 Freeway gives easy access to "city" commuters.
